We started class today by going over last week's Period 4/5 test. Hopefully, you are continuing to develop a process to approach these questions.
We then discussed the second half of Chapter 24. The Chapter 25 Guided Reading was handed out. Pages 539-564 should be read by Monday. Tonight you should work on Friday's LEQ. That January grind keeps rolling on. :) Today's class was spent analyzing 3 sample Long Essays. In groups, students read and scored each essay using the Long Essay rubric. We then talked about the merits of each essay and the score they earned according to the College Board. Hopefully, this helped continue your understanding of how to write effective and high scoring essays.

Today's class started with document analysis from the Civil War/Reconstruction review. It seems that people are starting to put the pieces together more effectively. We then reviewed Periods 4 and 5 in preparation for tomorrow's test. I've included below a sheet that summarizes the political parties through the 19th century if that is something you need help with.
