DBQ #2/Reading Homework
Today's class was spent writing the DBQ. Reading homework is as follows:
1st/2nd Period - 397-397
5th Period - 389-395
See you tomorrow.
Test Review/DBQ Work
Today we went over the Expansionism/Slavery Test and worked on Monday's DBQ. Remember, the essay will be written in class on Monday and you can not use notes you've created beforehand. However, you will get a clean copy of the question/documents to use.
There are not pages assigned for Monday, but you will be expected to have the first 7-10 pages read by Tuesday so it would not be a bad idea to get a head start on the reading this weekend. See you Monday.
Today in class we discussed the article, Life in a Totalitarian Society and started a video on Expansionism. We will finish the video tomorrow and review for Thursday's test.
Remember, you are supposed to have finished reading the chapter on slavery by tomorrow.
I've included a copy of the study guide for those that want to get started tonight.
Today, students took notes on the economic developments that led to slavery becoming entrenched in the Deep South. Afterwards, time was spent on 16 practice stimulus based multiple choice questions. After students had 16 minutes (the pace needed on the AP Exam) to answer these questions, we discussed both the prompts and the correct answer.
Remember that you have a 10% Summary of the article due on Tuesday and the chapter needs to be done by Wednesday. Have a great weekend!
The bulk of class today was spent taking the Pre-Assessment. Students had remaining time to finish the chapter on Westward Expansion.
To clarify, the next chapter is on slavery. For 1st/2nd Period, it is Chapter 13 - Masters and Slaves, for 5th Period, it is Chapter 11 - Slaves and Masters.
On the calendar, you will find the dates for the Expansion/Slavery Multiple Choice test along with the second DBQ.
Tomorrow we will finish with expansion. See you then.
