Today we finished new material!

Specifically, we finished our work on the Reagan administration and discussed major events from the 90s/00s. Most significantly for the 21st century, students should pay attention to the impact of September 11, 2001 on both domestic and foreign policy.

I've included all PowerPoints used in class the past two days below. Start reviewing this weekend. Two more weeks!

A Crisis in Confidence Notes and Nixon/Ford Video

Today in class students took notes on the period 1968-1980 and we then watch a video on the Nixon/Ford presidencies. We'll finish the Carter video tomorrow. Remember that the guided reading is due as well.

SAQ Practice

The majority of today's class was spent on a practice SAQ from the 2017 exam. Students worked on a competing historian question and then we discussed three different samples.

Today we did the Pre-Registration for the exam. If you were absent, there will be a make up opportunity. Back on that content grind for the next 6 class periods. Make sure you have the Chapter 37 Guided Reading done for tomorrow.

JFK/LBJ Video, Period 8/9 Discussion, Stim Based Strategies

Today's class started with a video over the major events of the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. We then looked over the Period 8 & 9 Outline. We finished with a video from Khan Academy that demonstrates strategies to tackle stimulus based multiple choice questions. 55 Question test tomorrow. See you then!

DBQ #4

Students spent class time today writing their first blind DBQ. Remember that Chapter 36 and the guided reading needs to be finished by Monday.

The next big thing is the 55 questions stimulus based test next Wednesday. I've included a file below that includes the College Board outline of Periods 7-9 below if you want to get on that study grind this weekend. I'll have hard copies next week. Have a great weekend.
