Today's class started with a Kahoot over Chapter 14 and we then watched the "Westward" episode of America the Story of Us.  Students took notes as an assignment for the video.

Remember that Chapter 14 needs to be done by Monday.

Students spent today's class writing their second Long Essay. Hard copies of the Chapter 14 guided reading were handed out.  By Friday, students need to read 278-292.

Type 2, Jackson Notes, Jackson Video, Essay Work

Today's class started with a Type 2 over the Bank War.  We then finished Jackson notes with a slide on the Nullification Crisis.  We then watched a short Jackson video and the remaining time was spend getting ready for Wednesday's Long Essay.

Chapter 13 should be finished by tomorrow.  See you then.

Jackson Notes, Jackson Newsela

Today's class started with a PowerPoint over the Age of Jackson.  There is a little to finish on Monday.  Students then read Andrew Jackson's justification of Indian Removal speech and answered four multiple choice questions that asked students to analyze his argument.

For Monday, you need to have 248-268 read.

We started today's class looking over Tuesday's election results. We then had a notebook check and discussed Chapter 12.  The remaining time was used to get started on next Wednesday's Long Essay.  The question is

To what extent did the Election of 1800 cause significant change?

Today in class, students worked on the components of DBQ writing using a question about the years 1812-1824.  As a class we worked on the process of contextualization, document analysis (including sourcing) and thesis writing.

Remember that I will be at the NHS folder review on Wednesday.  Bring your textbook to work on assigned readings.

Class time today was spent taking the Periods 1-3 Stimulus Based Multiple Choice test.  Students had any remaining time to work on assigned readings.  Remember article questions 2,3, and 5 are due Monday and you should have pages 226-236 of Chapter 12 read.
