Class time today was spent discussing the influence of the Second Great Awakening on the reform movement.  Specifically, primary documents from Charles Finney, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Dorothea Dix were read and discussed.  Remember, for homework, you are to read William Lloyd Garrison's The Liberator, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton's, Declaration of Sentiments.  For each of these readings, you need to answer the two questions at the end.

See you tomorrow.

Long Essay #2/Weekend Homework

11/14/2014

Today's class was spent writing the second Long Essay.  As we move into our last new topic of the trimester, Reform, we will use primary documents instead of the textbook.  For your homework this weekend, read pages 125-129 of the packet you received today.  Write brief answers for the questions on page 129.  They will be used as a springboard for discussion on Monday and collected for points.

End of trimester exams will be fast upon you next week, it would be a great idea to find time to start studying this weekend.  See you Monday.

Remember, you are to have Chapter 10 finished by tomorrow, expect a Type 2.  I've also posted below some Chapter 10 study questions that we will use to guide our review tomorrow.

Today in class students were broken into groups and assigned one section of the weekend reading homework.  Groups then presented their outline.  Our main focus was on frontier settlement and transportation developments (roads, steamboats, canals) that led to the emergence of a market economy.

Don't forget to finish Chapter 9 tonight.  I've included a copy of the review guide for Wednesday as well.  See you tomorrow.
