Chapters 1-3 Test, Reading Homework

9/24/2015

Class time today was spent taking the Chapters 1-3 test with remaining time to work on tonight's reading.  The assigned pages are 62-69 (you may skip 65-67, an article next week will get in depth on those topics).

The tests have been graded and we'll go over the tomorrow.  The high score was 62/63 which is extremely impressive.  After that, the next highest score was a 57 (of which there were 3).  So the test will likely go in as a 57 point assessment.  See you tomorrow.

Today we had a type 2 writing over the end of Chapter 1.  We then spent the majority of class on a group chapter outline activity.  The idea was to get an idea of what type of notes might be helpful while reading and also to review Chapter 1.  Assigned reading for tonight is p. 25-29.  See you tomorrow.

Today in class we had a type 2 over last night's reading and then talked about the historical skill of Periodization.  Specifically, we discussed the significance of the College Board selecting 1491 as the starting point of Period 1.  We then read a primary source expressing the harsh view on Native Americans held by some Spaniards.  Tomorrow we will read a second source and compare the two.

Tonight's reading homework is pages 11-15.  See you tomorrow.
