Today in class we had a Type 2 writing over the weekend homework and took notes on sectional conflict. I've included the PowerPoint below. During 5th period, I also announced that if either 1st or 5th period reaches 400 food items, they will get a food day, regardless of what the other class does. Readings for tomorrow: 1st Period - 397-404 5th Period - 395-402 ![]()
Today was the last essay of 2013. My hope is to get these essays returned by Friday, we'll see.
This weekend, the following pages are assigned from Chapter 14 (the chapters are once again the same in both versions of the book). 1st Period - 391-397 5th Period - 389-395 Have great weekend. Don't forget that next week is the last week of the food drive (ends Thursday). If there is any hope of getting to 1,000, and earning an in class food day, great work is going to have to be done this weekend. See you Monday. I ended up not being in the building at all today because my son was sick. I'll be back tomorrow. After we go over the test tomorrow, we'll continue to work on the Jacksonian DBQ. Remember, you are to have a draft of a thesis ready to go tomorrow. See you then.
Today we worked through through several documents in the Jacksonian DBQ in preparation for Friday's essay. You will want to continue to work on the documents and start working on your thesis.
Tomorrow, we'll wrap up the chapter on slavery. We'll discuss the article (questions 1-4 are due) and I'll review the chapter with you. A type 2 on the end of the chapter also seems likely. See you tomorrow. Today in class we took some notes on the concept of Manifest Destiny and the factors that led Americans to push westward during the first half of the 19th century. I've included a copy of today's PowerPoint below. Tomorrow we're moving into the next chapter on slavery. Today we went over the Trimester 'A' exam and students then had time to work on chapter readings. Remember, you should be through the section on the Mexican American War by tomorrow.
I do not have jury duty tomorrow, so let's start bringing in food for the food drive. See you tomorrow. |
