Today's class started by looking at more WWII era cartoons from Dr. Suez. Students then had some work time for the guided reading and we discussed WWII and review for tomorrow's test. Remember that Chapter 34 is due tomorrow.

Today's class focused on stimulus based multiple choice practice. We started with a video from Khan Academy going over strategy for these questions. Students then took a 13 question practice test and we then put those results in Kahoot.
Class finished by looking at some Dr. Seuss political cartoons from the months leading up to and after Pearl Harbor. Today's class started with a practice SAQ. Students spent 10 minutes writing a response and we then looked at and scored three sample essays.
We then had a Chapter 32 notebook check and discussed the chapter. Hard copies of the exam study guide were handed out and students had any remaining time to start looking it over. Today's class was spent preparing for tomorrow's New Deal debate. We will also do some SAQ work tomorrow.
Today's class started with tying up some loose ends with the content of Chapter 31. We then had a Type 2 on the weekend reading and watched the Presidents video for Hoover and FDR. The class finished with a discussion of Social Security and the limitations of the New Deal.
Have the chapter and the guided reading finished by Thursday. Students today got into groups and were responsible for one of the learning objectives on the Chapter 30 Guided Reading. They then led a discussion of their objective and matched it up to the College Board's topic outline. We then began an examination of the political/economic developments of the 1920s. For Monday, read pages 742-752.
Today we finished the 1920s notes started yesterday and watched a video on the Scopes Trial. I've included the PowerPoint below. The next reading deadline is Friday, have the chapter finished by then.
Class time today was spent writing a Long Essay. The reading for Monday is 692-700. Have a great weekend!
