Class time was spent working on the Chapter 21/22 Test. The reading homework is as follows:
1st/2nd Period - 667-672 5th Period - 653-658 See you tomorrow. Today in class we went over the Chapter 20 Quiz, had two Type 2's over assigned reading from the weekend, and took some notes on the Progressive movement. Be sure to keep up on the readings the rest of the week. Tomorrow, we'll review both chapters in preparation for Wednesday's test.
Class time today was spent taking the Chapter 21 Quiz, and an introductory lecture to American expansionism at the turn of the century. As we embark on another two chapter week, reading everyday will be vital. The reading schedule for the next week is as follows:
1st/2nd Period Wed. - 611-621 Thurs. - 621-627 Fri. - OFF Sat. - 627-635 Sun. - 639-645 Mon. - 645-654 Tues. - 654-664 5th Period Wed. - 600-609 Thurs. - 609-615 Fri. - OFF Sat. - 615-625 Sun. - 627-633 Mon. - 633-642 Tues. - 642-651 Today we spent class time finishing the Gilded Age Notes, watched The Presidents video on Cleveland's second term and McKinley, and worked on the questions for next week's Long Essay. A case was made today that the essay questions were too similar to the DBQ. Upon further reflection, I agree. With the exception of the first DBQ and Long Essay, all of these essays you are writing are new, they have not been used in my prior nine years teaching this course. As I've mentioned, the resources available for the resdesigned curriculum are extremely limited and the initial questions selected were a result of those limitations. However, I recently acquired additional resources from which I selected the new questions. While many people (especially those that did well on the DBQ) would have no problem writing an essay similar to the last DBQ, it's not what's best for you as a writer or as someone preparing for the AP Exam. So while some might be salty that the switch is being made, it's in your best interest and you still have the questions today given that I have texted them and they are included below. **For some reason, the PDF link is not working. Here are the questions if you're here before I figure out what the issue is:
America. Feel free to email me any questions or work you've done on these essays over the weekend.

Today's class spent going over yesterday's test and working on tomorrow's DBQ. As requested, I have included a reading schedule for the weekend to get you to Monday.
1st/2nd Period Thursday - 527-537 Friday - OFF Saturday - 537-545 Sunday - 549-558 Fifth Period Thursday - 520-529 Friday - OFF Saturday - 529-537 Sunday - 539-550 Reading assignments have been designed to coincide with with the sections in your book. Given the two different versions of the book, your reading assignment may be a page or two longer/shorter than your am or pm peers. Today's class was spent taking the Chapter 16/17 Test. Tomorrow we'll discuss the first Chapter 18 reading assignment and work on Friday's DBQ. The reading assignment for tonight is as follows: 1st/2nd Period - 519-527 5th Period - 511-519 Additionally, I've included a review guide for Chapters 18/19 that you may find helpful as you tackle these chapters.
