Today in class we went through a series of discussion questions relevant to Chapter 3. They are as follows:
•What was the role of family in New England? •What was the status of women in New England society? (gains/limitations) •Was there social mobility in New England? •What was the impact of mortality on the Chesapeake? •What was the impact of social stratification on the Chesapeake?
For each question, students had a few minutes to discuss in groups and we then discussed them as a class. After the discussion questions, I went through to check that students had completed their homework on the colonial uprisings that took place during the 17th century.
With the remaining class time, students were able to work on their learning objectives, which are due on Tuesday.
