Test Results, Reconstruction Notes, Long Essay Work

Today in class we went over yesterday's multiple choice test, started taking notes for Reconstruction, and had some work time for tomorrow's Long Essay.

Remember, for tomorrow's essay, you need to consider the issues that were debated regarding slavery.  These include the following:

1. Should slavery be allowed to expand into new territory?
2. Should slavery be abolished?
3. Should slavery be protected and preserved where it already is?
4. Who has the political authority to address slavery?
5. What is the overall economic impact of slavery?

The Mexican-American war led to great change in some of these issues, others did not see much change until later.  The main task of this question is to address what changed as a result of the Mexican-American War, and what issue(s) of debate regarding slavery, despite the addition of all this land, did not see much change.
