Today in class we looked over the exam from last trimester, students learned their grades, had a quick Type 2 writing on the weekend reading, and started 1920s notes (which we will finish tomorrow).
Reading for tonight is 703-708,
**New Procedural Change**
From now on, when I'm putting assignments and tests into eSchool, if I don't have anything from you because you were gone, I will put in a ''Z' for a grade, even if you are out sick. The reason I'm doing this is to encourage students to make up assignments/tests in a timely manner. You obviously are not penalized at all when you make up work from when you are sick. What I noticed last trimester is that when I leave the grade blank (which does not impact your overall grade), some students do not end up making up work from when they were gone. So while I realize that a 'Z' might have a startling impact on your grade, it is only temporary and I will be sure to grade make up work the day it is turned in/made up.
