.Today's class started with a Type 2 and discussion over assigned readings. Students then read a document that showed great opposition to securing rights for African-Americans during Reconstruction. The source of the document was not given and students were encouraged to hypothesize as to the potential source of the document. Most students were able to figure out that it was Andrew Johnson.
Students spent the last 15 minutes or so of class working on a Reconstruction political cartoon. We'll finish those tomorrow. Don't forget that your next reading deadlines are Wednesday and the guided reading is due.
